The 3 Credit Bureaus

A very crucial part of managing your credit is learning how to deal with the  3 major credit reporting agencies.

Who They Are?

These 3 businesses are known as Credit Bureaus. Take a look at all three below.
  • Equifax.
  • TransUnion
  • Experian.

They are separate bureaus and are also called Credit Reporting Agencies (CRA's). 

Although there are several smaller CRA's that are located in smaller communities and towns, they usually get their information about you from one the three big credit bureaus.

What They Do?

They each maintain credit files on you.   These credit file is called your credit reports

When Will You Need To Deal With Them?

  • To order a copy of your credit report
  • To dispute errors in your credit report
