utilities and see if they ask for your social security
number.
They then check your credit to see if you are
credit worthy.
Then they will charge you a deposit if your credit
report isn't where they think it should be.
Paying those deposits can cause you a lot of money.
Not paying your utility bill will also be reported to the
credit bureaus and can have a very negative mark on
your credit score.
