                      Hi I'm Abbie,
                      your financial
                      education tutor.

                       Welcome!

Credit Tutorial

Whether you believe it or not everybody uses some kind of credit.  Many people say that I don't use credit but if you have any kind of utilities such as electric, water, or natural gas you are being extending credit.

These utilities companies allow you to use their
service and bill you for using it.  People this
is using credit too.

If you don't believe me just go apply for some of those
utilities and see if they ask for your social security
number.

They then check your credit to see if you are
credit worthy.

Then they will charge you a deposit if your credit
report isn't where they think it should be.

Paying those deposits can cause you a lot of money.

Not paying your utility bill will also be reported to the
credit bureaus and can have a very negative mark on
your credit score.
