For some I know that you are wondering what in the world does decorating a house have to do with financial literacy.  Well remember that financial education makes you financially literate.  Once you become financially educated you will start to understand that you should
save money on everything you purchase including  buying
home  decorating items.

So when it comes to you decorating your house you
should look for cheap decorating ideas.  Know this that
there are plenty of cheap home decor ideas around.

So that's why I am writing this webpage to help with
saving money on your home decorations.

Home Decorating on a Budget

The first thing you need to do when starting a home
decorating project is to set a budget.  Know how much
you want to spend on your home decorations and stick
with you budget.

Know how much money each household item will cost.

Once you know that,  you can make a list of household items you need to purchase to complete the decoration project.

Then do a price comparison to see how you can save the most money.

Know how much it will cost to ship the item(s)

Setup a comparison Chart of all the items you need to purchase

Create a price comparison worksheet

You can use a plain sheet of paper or a spreadsheet

Create rows on the spreadsheet

Put one item per row

On the spreadsheet put the following things

  • Location of Item

  • Cost of Item

  • Shipping and Handling

  • Total cost of Item

  • Shipping Date

Make sure  you fill in the shipping and handling part of the spreadsheet when you start to compare prices. Then only compare the total price to see which item you can save the most money on.
